Mr Green and Rebecca Grinch (A Night Before fan fiction)

---

In the far North Pole, where the cold winds blow,

And the northern lights put on a magical show,

Lived Santa Claus, with a twinkle in his eye,

Ready to give Mr. Green one last try.

"Now listen, dear Green," Santa said with a grin,

"We've got a task, let's see where you'll begin.

There's a Grinch, a girl, not merry but grim,

Your mission, should you choose, to enlighten her dim."

Santa's eyes sparkled, his voice clear and bright,

"Show her true Christmas, make her heart light.

For if you succeed, and your task is all done,

Angel wings await you, as your prize to be won."

Mr. Green nodded, his heart set ablaze,

Ready to embark on this heartwarming craze.

"To change Grinch's heart," he thought, "I must be clever,

Show her the joy of Christmas, now and forever."

With a wave of his hand, Santa sent Green on his way,

To the bustling city where night meets day.

To find Rebecca Grinch, with her heart so closed,

And open it up to the joy Santa proposed.

---

In the heart of the city, where the lights shone bright,

Lived Rebecca Grinch, plotting deep in the night.

With a smirk on her lips and a glint in her eye,

She planned a grand prank, under the starry sky.

“Mr. Green’s Christmas party, oh, what a sight!

But I’ll turn it to chaos, much to his fright,”

Rebecca cackled, her plan taking shape,

To douse their joy in a watery cape.

She schemed and she thought, “How to make them boo hoo?”

I'll cut their power, that’s what I'll do!

And then, for good measure, I’ll turn on the spray,

The fire sprinklers will wash their cheer away!”

In her mind, she saw them, the guests' shocked faces,

As darkness engulfed their festive places.

Water pouring down like a sorrowful flood,

Turning their celebration into cold, wet mud.

“They'll cry ‘Boo hoo’ in their holiday attire,

As I snuff out their jolly Christmas fire.

They'll see Christmas isn’t about joy and song,

I’ll show them that their merriment is certainly wrong.”

With her plan in place, she felt a thrill,

Believing her prank to be a bitter pill.

For in her heart, where warmth should be,

Lay a cold spot, hidden and where no one could see.

But little did she know, as she plotted that night,

That her plan would soon see a different light.

For magic and friendship were about to unfold,

Changing her story, yet to be told.

---

In a quiet corner of the bustling city,

Mr. Green sat pondering, feeling quite shitty.

“How to show Grinch,” he thought with a frown,

“The joy of Christmas, and turn her around?”

He thought and he thought, till his mind was a maze,

Recalling the Christmases of his own yester days.

The lights, the laughter, the carols so bright,

The warmth of the season, the magical night.

Then, like a star shining clear in the night,

Came an idea, so simple, so bright.

“Let Christmas work its magic,” he said with a cheer,

“I’ll invite her to my ball, the highlight of the year!”

With a flick of his pen, and a twirl of his hand,

He wrote an invitation, elegant and grand.

“To Rebecca Grinch, please be my guest,

At the Christmas Ball, where joy manifests.”

He sent it her way with a small, magic bird,

Hoping she’d accept without a harsh word.

The bird fluttered off into the night sky,

Carrying the invite, off it did fly.

Mr. Green smiled, his heart light and gay,

“Let's hope she comes and sees Christmas a new way.

For sometimes the heart just needs a small nudge,

To let go of grudges, and stop being a judge.”

And so, the stage was set, the plan in place,

For Rebecca to join the Christmas embrace.

Would she come and see what Mr. Green saw?

That joy at Christmas was a celestial law.

---

In her dimly lit room, Rebecca hatched a plan,

To find the ball and ruin it if she can.

Maps and notes were strewn all around,

As she searched for the venue, yet to be found.

She thought of disguises, of sneaky ways in,

A mask, a costume, malice under her grin.

“The guests will be merry, the guards unaware,

I'll slip inside, like a shadow, with flair.”

Just then, a flutter, a bird at her pane,

Carrying an invite, in the moonlit lane.

She read the card, a smirk on her lips,

“Mr. Green is a fool” she thought with her hands on her hips

“He thinks he’s so clever, inviting me there,

Believing I’ll soften, with nary a care.

But little does he know, I have a plan grand,

To stop Christmas coming, this year in this land.”

She held the invite, her mind racing with glee,

“No need for disguises, I’ll enter for free.

I'll ruin the ball and the so-called holiday cheer,

I’ll bring it all down, oh the cries I will hear.”

In her heart, where warmth should reside,

Lay plans so cold, they could not be denied.

Yet deep down, a flicker, a doubt so small,

A wondering if Christmas had any magic at all.

But she shook it off, her resolve stern and tall,

“I’ll use this invite to end it all.

Christmas won't come, if I have my way,

I’ll turn their bright night into dismal day.”

And so, with the invite clutched in her hand,

She prepared for her mission, bold and unplanned.

To sneak into the ball, and unleash her dismay,

To ruin the magic of Mr. Green’s holiday.

---

The Christmas ball was a sight to behold,

With glittering lights and colors bold.

Rebecca Grinch arrived, her invite in hand,

Ready to enact her mischievous plan.

She was led through the crowd, so lively and bright,

To the VIP section, a dazzling sight.

There sat Beyoncé and Taylor Swift,

And Rebecca smiled as she thought of her grift

Rebecca was unmoved by the stars' charm,

Her heart set on causing alarm.

She excused herself, a fake smile she wore,

And slipped away to the maintenance door.

In the shadows she worked, her hands quick and sly,

Rigging the sprinklers, her spirits high.

Thinking of the chaos, the panic, the cries,

The shock on the faces, the dismay in their eyes.

“Taylor and Beyoncé, I’m going to be mean,

I”ll drench their glamour and disrupt their scene.

My prank will be epic, a story to tell,

I'll douse their Christmas, and make their life hell.”

The sprinklers were set, her plan all in place,

A wicked grin spread across her face.

She imagined the ball turning into a mess,

Her small heart pounding hard in her chest.

With glee, she thought of her impending fun,

As she prepared to watch her chaos begun.

The guests, the music, the holiday cheer,

All about to be washed away, oh so near.

---

The Christmas ball was in full swing,

Joy and laughter did the air ring.

Mr. Green, with a smile so wide,

Had a special moment in mind, to abide.

He took to the stage and the crowd hushed,

“Ladies and gentlemen,” he gushed,

“we have a guest, who’s special indeed,

Rebecca Grinch, come forth, and take the lead!”

The crowd turned, searching with curious eyes,

Rebecca’s, stunned face she could barely disguise.

Her heart raced, her plan still unseen,

As she walked to the stage, feeling quite seen.

“Tonight,” said Mr. Green, “we crown you Queen,

Of our Christmas Ball, a sight so serene.”

He placed the crown and her heart skipped a beat,

The irony rich, her plan now complete.

As she stood there, in the centre of the ball,

The sprinklers erupted, drenching all.

Rebecca grabbed the mic, her voice loud and clear,

“Suck it, you fools,” she said, without fear.

Her laughter rang out, amidst the shocked stares,

Her plan fulfilled, caught them unawares.

A pause hung heavy, then from someone's mouth,
A single word traveled south.
"Grinch!" they cried, and the name hung in air,

Then beats burst forth, with a new rhythmic flair.

Then suddenly, as if on cue,
The music pounded, as if anew.
The crowd began to dance and sway,
"Grinch! Grinch!" they began to say.

The chant grew loud, a rhythmic beat,
Turning her defeat into a treat.
What was meant to dampen, to bring them low,
Became the highlight, the show's meaningful glow.

Rebecca, stunned, watched the scene unfold,
Her plan of gloom turned to gold.

The ball, now wild with laughter and dance,
Left Rebecca in a bewildered trance.

Rebecca stood, her victory hollow,

As she watched the joy she thought would not follow.

The guests, undeterred, embraced the surprise,

Finding fun in the chaos, under soggy skies.

Mr. Green approached, a twinkle in his eye,

“See, Rebecca, Christmas spirit can’t die.

Sometimes it’s not about the perfect scene,

But finding joy, in the unforeseen.”

---

The ball roared with life, as Rebecca stood still,

Her heart unexpectedly began to thrill.

The chants and the cheers, the joy all around,

Started to lift her, off of the ground.

"Damn you, Mr. Green," she whispered low,

Feeling the Christmas magic start to grow.

Her plan of despair, now lost in the cheer,

Christmas's warmth drawing ever more near.

But then, her brain recalled a familiar sight,

Mr. Green in her past, his aura bright.

"I know you," she said, her memory sparked,

A figure from the past, once in the dark.

"You were my dealer, in times so bleak,

You were gone when I did seek"

Ten years ago on Christmas Eve,

Your life, of an overdose, you did leave."

Mr. Green approached, a gentle grace,

A knowing sadness on his face.

"Rebecca," he said, "the truth is here,

Last Christmas, you too left this sphere.”

"Your Hans Gruber act, a fall so steep,

Led to a sleep, so dark and deep.

Now here we drift, souls intertwined,

In a Christmas realm, redefined."

In that moment, the magic took hold,

Rebecca’s story, finally told.

Christmas's warmth, love, and cheer,

Became her beacon, crystal clear.

Together, they joined the festive dance,

Embracing their second chance.

For in the end, it was love and light,

That made their eternal Christmas bright.
